Homelessness Information
Homelessness is a growing concern throughout our area and public education. The district wants to let those families affected by homelessness know that there is assistance available. This portion of our website provides information regarding available programs and assistance for those affected homelessness.
Homeless children, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, are those who “lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.” McKinney-Vento was passed by Congress in 1987 to “ensure that each homeless youth has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education…as provided to other children.”
For additional information or assistance, please contact the district liason, Angelo Falzone, at 570-655-2836 x2346.
